Star Football Player From Bridgewater Shot Dead In Elizabeth A former New Jersey football star was shot dead over the weekend, authorities announced. Jameer Outsey, a three-year letterman at Franklin Township High School (Class of 2014), was fatally shot in Elizabeth on Saturday, Aug. 12, prosecutors said. The 27-year-old former athlete was hospitalized after being shot at North Broad Street and Magnolia Avenue, and subsequently pronounced dead, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Elizabeth Girl, 15, Leaving School Critical After Being Struck By Car A 15-year-old girl was in critical condition after being struck by a car Tuesday in Elizabeth, authorities said. The teen was being picked up from school when she was struck around 1 p.m. at North Broad Street and North Avenue, City Spokeswoman Kelly A. Martins said. The vehicle that struck her remained at this scene.  No further information was available. The scene was closed for investigation.
