NJ Pediatrician Accused Of Leaving Crash That Injured Father, Daughter In Staten Island A pediatrician from Monmouth County is accused of leaving the scene of a crash that injured a man and his daughter in Staten Island, according to officials. Dr. Sam Leuzzi, 66, of Middletown, is facing three charges related to a crash on Staten Island, the New York City Police Department said. NYPD officers responded to the intersection of Arthur Kill Road and Drumgoole Road West just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9. The Edison woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a speeding car at a crosswalk on Saturday, Dec. 23. Kamath sustained a skull fracture, spinal fracture, internal bleeding, pelvic fracture, multiple collar bone fractures and other severe internal injuries and was unconscious for five days. The next, he was in the hospital on a ventilator.  The personal trainer from North Jersey suffered an infection after having a tooth extracted on July 28, and was put on antibiotics and then the ventilator to protect his airways.  Doctors worried the size and swelling of the infection would affect his breathing.
