A New Jersey school district is mourning the loss of its former superintendent. Miguel Hernandez, 58, was currently serving as interim assistant principal at Manchester Regional High School in Passaic County, after retiring as superintendent in 2021. He died on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 58. In response to Hernandez's passing, the school district held an early dismissal on Monday, Nov. 13. A Passaic County high school is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved teachers. Fady Hanna, an English teacher at Manchester Regional High School in Haledon since 2020, was remembered by Schools Superintendent Gary Lubisco Jr. as "an engaging teacher," who made students feel excited to attend class. Deaths Of Beloved Head School Custodian, Wife In Crash Devastates Haledon Community
Shock and sorrow spread through Haledon and beyond on Sunday with word that the school district’s beloved head custodian and his wife were killed in a horrific crash hours earlier. Responders tried in vain to revive Corrado LaRosa, the director of physical plant and custodial services, and his wife, Tina LaRosa, following the crash near the corner of Belmont Avenue and John Street minutes before midnight.
