Fiery Deaths Prompt Recall For Millions Of Dehumidifiers: Cpsc
After multiple deaths, 450 fires, 2,000 incidents of overheating, and $19 million in property damage – millions of dehumidifiers are being recalled, according to a release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Aug. 16, 2023.
The dehumidifiers were manufactured by Gree Electric Appliances, of China, and were sold under major brand names: Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, GE, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir and SuperClima, the CPSC explained.

'Forever Our Brother:' Nicholas Jarusiewicz Of Ocean County Dies, 32
Ocean County resident and Lowe’s sales manager Nicholas Jarusiewicz died at his home in Jackson Township on Friday, May 19. He was 32.
Born in Neptune, Nicholas lived in Jackson Township for the majority of his life, moving briefly to Missouri before coming back in 2017, his obituary says.
Nicholas worked as a sales manager for Lowe’s in Osage Beach, Missouri.
He was known for his love of racing quads, fishing, RC cars, shooting rifles and pistols, and other outdoor activities.

Police: NJ, PA Pair Nabbed For Shoplifting Copper Wire From Morris County Lowe’s Stores
Two men accused of stealing copper wire from Lowe’s in Morris County were charged, authorities said.
Raul Lopez, 35, was identified as one of two men seen shoplifting the copper wire from the International Drive store in Flanders around 12:35 p.m. on March 11, Mount Olive police said.
Lopez, of Allentown, PA, was arrested following an investigation and charged with shoplifting.
The second suspect, Antonio D. Dewitt, 34, was found to be connected to the first incident after being jailed for shoplifting wire from a different Lowe’s store on March 19, police said.

4 Family Members, 2 Others Indicted For Roles In Franklin Theft Ring: Pros
Four family members and two workers at a Franklin Township convenience store have been indicted for running a retail theft ring, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said Friday.
Indicted were Somerset residents David Rubin, 61; Lisa Rubin, 54; Sherylee Rubin, 58; and Dunia Patricia Hernandez, 32. Also indicted were Batsheva Rubin-Rivera, 24, of New Brunswick; and Andre Watts, 30, of North Brunswick.
David Rubin is married to Lisa and Rubin-Rivera is their daughter. Sherylee Rubin is David Rubin's sister.
