Central Jersey High School Student Suffers 'Traumatic Cardiac Event': Fundraiser A teen in Monmouth County was fighting for his life after going into cardiac arrest, a fundraising campaign said. A GoFundMe page said JJ Machnik suffered a "traumatic cardiac event" on the morning of Friday, May 10. The GoFundMe page had raised more than $39,000 from at least 680 donations as of Monday, May 13. Machnik was rushed to Morristown Medical Center and "coded" on his way to the hospital. He was placed in a medically induced coma to be monitored for 48 hours in the cardiac care unit.
