Motorcyclist Fleeing Stop In Secaucus Crashes, Dies A motorcyclist who fled a traffic stop in Secaucus died after colliding with another civilian's vehicle, authorities said. The as-yet-unnamed motorcyclist was stopped by a Hudson County sheriff's officer on County Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. The motorcyclist fled north on County Avenue, then struck an SUV at the Charles Street intersection, ejecting him, Platkin said. Arrest Made In North Bergen Hit-Run Crash That Left Grandmother, Toddler Critical A 22-year-old Newark man has been arrested more than a year after a hit-and-run crash that left a 56-year-old woman and her 3-year-old grandson critical, authorities announced. Micah James was arrested during a traffic stop in Georgia, on a warrant relating to the September 2021 incident in North Bergen, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. James is believed to have struck the woman and the boy from Queens, NY, around 12 a.m. on Sept. 4, 2021 on Tonnelle Avenue and 46th Street, Suarez said. He fled the scene in a midsized sedan. Murder: Man Dies Months After Being Stabbed By Woman In Jersey City, Prosecutor Says A 28-year-old Jersey City woman has been charged with murder after the man she's accused of having stabbed in February died of his injuries over the summer, authorities announced. Sykirrah Kirkland stabbed Omar Boatwright, 29, who was found with injuries at 67 Lexington Ave., around 8:05 the morning of Saturday, Feb. 19, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Boatwright was treated at Jersey City Medical Center and released, but was readmitted on Saturday, July 9, for complications of the stabbing, Suarez said. Diana Camacho was employed by Kiddie Academy of Hoboken at the time of the incident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The HCPO Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, Institutional Abuse Investigations Unit about possible abuse by Camacho and launched an investigation, Suarez said.
