Car Crashes Into 7-Eleven On Jersey Shore A car smashed into a 7-Eleven shop in Brick Township, authorities said. At 10:24 a.m. on Monday, July 10th, Brick police received a call that a vehicle had crashed into the store located at 1151 Burnt Tavern Road, a one-story, commercial building on the corner of Burnt Tavern Road and Burrsville Road. The driver, 58-year-old Mary O’Brien from Howell, accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake as she was pulling into a parking space in front of the store, police said. Overheated Pit Bull Rescued In Brick By Police, Firefighters Brick police and Herbertsville firefighters rescued a neglected pit bill from a balcony where the temperature was in excess of 110 degrees, authorities said. A neighbor called Brick police about 4:10 p.m. on Sunday to complain that a dog had been outside on a third-floor balcony in direct sun for several hours, police said in a statement. Upon their arrival at 252 Sawmill Road, Brick Police Officers Scott Smith and Joe Lardieri found a pit bull dog panting heavily, barking and in distress.
