Jersey Shore Driver Charged In DWI Crash That Injured Trooper In Construction Zone
A 25-year-old woman from the Jersey Shore has been charged with driving while intoxicated in a construction zone crash with a parked New Jersey State Police patrol car, authorities said. Ithai Balderas-Gonzalez, of Ocean, was arrested after the crash in which a trooper suffered moderate injuries, according to Trooper Troy McNair, a State Police spokesman. A 61-year-old pedestrian was killed in a crash in East Brunswick, authorities said. Heather Steinklein of East Brunswick was hit shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 on Russ Lane, police said. A Jackson Township crash is being investigated by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Two people were injured in the early-morning crash at North County Line Road and Jackson Mills Road Saturday, Jan. 27, Jackson Police Chief Matthew Kunz said.
