Two police officers in Atlantic County were injured, including one who was stabbed, while responding to a call, authorities said. Keith Kiminski, 30, of Galloway, was arrested on Sunday, Apr. 7, the Galloway Township Police Department said in a news release. He was given several charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and resisting arrest. A Jersey City man was accused of trying to scam an elderly Atlantic County couple out of $20,000, authorities said. Vamshihar Katikreddy, 25, was arrested on Tuesday, Apr. 2, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. Investigators in Atlantic County are asking for help in solving the murder of a local celebrity in Atlantic City nearly 40 years ago, authorities said. In a news release on Wednesday, March 27, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office asked for public assistance in the investigation into the 1985 killing of Raul Sanchez. A Delaware man was accused of driving drunk, speeding, and ignoring a red light in a crash that killed a woman in Atlantic County, authorities said. More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. The family of an Atlantic County mother and former restaurant owner is mourning her death. Melinda Schriver of Galloway died on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 45 years old, according to her obituary. The cause of her death was not mentioned. Schriver was born on Friday, Sept. 8, 1978, in Vineland, and she was a lifelong resident of Galloway. She was an Absegami High School graduate and studied business administration at Atlantic Cape Community College. Investigators are looking for your help in solving the cold case of a woman found dead in Atlantic County more than 35 years ago. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13 that its major crimes unit is looking for the relatives and friends of James “Crab Daddy” Whiting Jr. He was born in 1916 and died in 2011. In New Jersey, the most amount of snow from the Friday, Jan. 19 storm appears to have fallen in Hopewell Township (Cumberland County) and Mount Royal (Gloucester County), where 6.5 inches of snow were reported. Yet another December rain storm has come and gone, leaving many New Jersey towns under water. According to the National Weather Service's Philadelphia/Mount Holly office, between one and three inches of rain fell across the area, ending early Thursday, Dec. 28. The town that got the most amount of rain is Washington Township (Warren County), with 3.38 inches, the weather service said. An Atlantic County man admitted collecting child porn videos and still images, some involving sadistic or masochistic violence against victims as young as 12, federal authorities said.
