A 1-year-old boy was severely burned when he pulled a cup of scalding hot coffee from the top of a TV in the family living room, Garfield police said. The boy suffered second-degree burns on his upper right chest and upper right shoulder in the 8:45 a.m. accident Wednesday on Malcolm Avenue, Capt. Mario Pozo said. Allendale Man Seriously Injured In Fall From Ladder In Park Ridge
A man was airlifted to the hospital after falling from a ladder at a Park Ridge home over the weekend. The 35-year-old victim from Allendale was unconscious and bleeding from the head when police arrived at the West Park Avenue home off Pascack Road just after 2 p.m. Sunday, Capt. Joseph Rampolla said. A medevac was requested due to the nature of the injury, which occurred when the victim fell from a 6-foot A-frame ladder, the captain said. AirMed One landed at West Ridge Elementary School and took him to Hackensack University Medical Center, he said.

Car Fire Victim Airlifted To Barnabas After Suspected Suicide Bid
A 20-year-old victim was airlifted from the parking lot of a Hillsdale swim club Sunday night with severe burns. AirMed One flew the victim to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston with burns on his arms and throat after police, firefighters and EMS were summoned to the Stonybrook Swim Club on Cedar Lane off Piermont Avenue around 10 p.m., responders said. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office was notified. The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence. Hillsdale police detectives were investigating. Palisades Interstate Parkway police rescued a victim who fell 40 feet down the cliffs above the Hudson River on Saturday. The 43-year-old Brooklyn man was wearing sneakers with no treads when he slipped from an area known as Peanut Leap Falls and rolled down the mountain at the Rockland County border in Alpine shortly before 11:30 a.m., PIP Police Sgt. First Class Raymond E. Walter said. Jersey Shore Responders Rescue Trapped Construction Worker
Rescuers freed a worker who fell 15 feet at a Lakewood construction site Friday morning, authorities said. Rescuers who responded to the 8 a.m. call at the site off Attaya Road used a Stokes basket to secure and left the worker out, Lakewood Fire Chief Mike D'Elia Jr. said. A chopper flew the worker to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment of what Lakewood EMS Chief Crystal Van de Zilver said was a possible broken leg and other injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
