State Police Seek Public's Help In South Jersey I-295 Shooting

New Jersey State police seek the public's help locating a dark-colored sedan allegedly involved in a weekend shooting, authorities said.

A motorist on Interstate-295 reportedly was shot in the hand in Bellmawr Borough, Camden County, State Police said.

Troopers were called to an area hospital mid-afternoon Sunday where a 42-year-old man was being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound, police said.

The victim told troopers that he was shot by someone in another vehicle while driving on I-295 north between exits 28 and 29, police said.

An unidentified suspect fired multiple shots from a dark-colored sedan into the victim's Chevrolet Tahoe shortly after 1 p.m., the victim told police.

The shooting suspect continued driving northbound, police said.

The victim was unable to provide a license plate number, police said.
