The driver killed in an early-morning crash Wednesday, July 10 on Route 130 in Hamilton has been identified as the director of the New Jersey State Commission of Investigation (SCI). The agency identified its executive director Chadd W. Lackey as the 55-year-old Voorhees driver who died in the Hamilton crash. Details have been released in a crash that caused serious delays along the Garden State Parkway on one of the busiest travel times of the year. Just before 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, a Honda SUV driven by a 62-year-old Jackson man was heading south in the local lanes while a Toyota SUV driven by a 20-year-old Montville man were both heading south in the express lanes, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Morning rush hour traffic appeared to be moving smoothly on the Garden State Parkway after buckled pavement caused major delays in Toms River. A pavement heave was found on the southbound side near milepost 82.7, the parkway said on Twitter at 5:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Emergency repairs forced the right lane to close, causing significant delays during a busy Fourth of July holiday travel week. Route 4 Reopens Nearly 12+ Hours After Crash Downs Wires
Route 4 has reopened more than 12 hours after a crash downed a pole and live wires in Teaneck, police said. Sometime after 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, a crash took down a pole in the westbound lanes near River Road, local police said. All lanes were closed with traffic getting by in one lane on the eastbound side, police said. At 9:30 p.m., Teaneck police announced the roadway had been reopened and all repairs had been made. A car crashed into a toll booth on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, causing an afternoon traffic slowdown. The New Jersey Department of Transportation said a vehicle overturned at the southbound toll plaza in Barnegat. The crash happened just after noon on Friday, Feb. 9. A Hyundai SUV was heading west on the highway when a Ford traveling on the on ramp from Route 206 south around 4:30 p.m. in Mount Olive, NJSP Sgt. Charles Marchan said.
