Murder: Lodi Woman, 44, Slain By Abusive Husband, Authorities Charge
A 44-year-old Lodi woman who suffered repeated assaults at the hands of her estranged husband was stabbed to death by him, authorities said.
Civilians held down Joel Cinco, 48, for police after he stabbed Janet Cinco on Westervelt Place, between Willard and Arnot Street, around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, responders said.
Police who were first on the scene conducted CPR before EMS took over and brought Janet Cinco to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was rushed into surgery.
She died in the operating room, sources with direct knowledge of the killing said.

Busted: Illegal Route 46 U-Turn Leads To Crystal Meth, Loaded Gun, Arrests Of Ex-Con Couple
A pair of convicted felons both wanted on warrants had crystal meth in the car and a loaded gun under the seat when a South Hackensack police officer stopped them for an illegal U-turn on Route 46, authorities said.
The warrants turned up after Officer Steven Oliver stopped a Chevy Equinox with an expired temporary license plate driven by Dale Edwards, 45, who had an active warrant out of Montana, Detective Sgt. James Donatello said.
With him was Kelly M. Wilson, 40, who was wanted out of Falls Township, PA, the sergeant said.

An ex-con from Philadelphia tossed a gun with a high-capacity magazine onto a roof while being chased by detectives in Paterson, authorities said.
It began as Detectives Kenneth Kerwin, John Traynor and Wojciech Kulbabinski approached a group gathered in front of a convenience store at the corner of Madison and Essex streets, city Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

A warehouse worker from Hackensack suspected of dealing drugs was busted with a handgun and a high-capacity magazine, as well as pot and Oxycodone packaged for sale, city police said.
John O. Oguje Jr., 25, was charged with various drug and weapons charges following a raid on his apartment Thursday, Feb. 10, as part of an investigation by Detective Michael Reo, Detective Capt. Michael Antista said.
