A North Jersey dad is pitching in to help expand a popular salad chain.
Sloan Zuckerman, who lives in Tenafly with his family, is opening The Salad House in Englewood.
The chain has stores in Millburn, Morristown, Westfield, Montclair, Livingston, Ridgewood and Sparta. The Englewood store at 31 E. Palisade Ave. is already open.
Founded in 2011 and franchising since 2017, Salad House is a health-conscious fast casual restaurant brand that serves up fresh, made-to-order customizable salad creations.

Loving friend, son, and devoted uncle Daniel Robert Sargent Frederick died unexpectedly at his childhood home in Lake Hopatcong on Saturday, May 21. He was 31.
A Lake Hopatcong native, Daniel attended Jefferson Township High School and worked as a driver at the Sunrise House Treatment Center in Lafayette, his social media page says.
Daniel had several passions in life, including music, fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities, according to his obituary.
He was also known for his one-of-a-kind quirks — such as loving window air conditioners, traffic lights, and Barney the dinosaur.

Vomit-Covered Man Drove Drunk On Rt. 15 With Trunk Open, Thought He Was In NY: Sparta Police
A 35-year-old New York man was drunk and covered in vomit when he drove with an open trunk on Route 15, authorities said.
Adam Doukas, of Otisville, was found covered in vomit as officers stopped him for the open trunk and several other violations on Route 15 in Sparta around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, police said in a Monday release.
When the officer asked Doukas if he knew where he was, he stated that he thought he was in Port Jervis, NY, according to police.
Doukas then handed the officer his credit card instead of registration when asked for his credentials, police said.

21-Year-Old Sussex County Man Charged In DWI Hit-And-Run Crash: Police
A Sussex County man was intoxicated when he drove away from the scene of a crash, authorities said.
Benjamin Johnson, 21, hit another vehicle while driving a Toyota Camry near North Shore and Sparta Avenue in Sparta around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, April 15, police said in a Monday release.
Johnson, of Newton, was subsequently found in the parking lot of QuickChek with his vehicle, which sustained heavy front-end damage, authorities said.
Johnson was found to be intoxicated and failed a series of field sobriety tests, police said.
