A New Jersey town's police chief was accused of improperly using law enforcement databases and helping someone shoplift, authorities said. A Bergen County Bottle King employee was hospitalized with injuries suffered while trying to chase down a shoplifter Thursday night, Oct. 31, Daily Voice has learned. Police were trying to determine exactly how the employee of the Glen Rock store on Prospect Street was injured — he may have tripped and fallen, or have been struck by a car sometime around 7:30 p.m., incident reporter Boyd A.
