Heavy rain is on the forecast for New Jersey and Pennsylvania for Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12, and AccuWeather forecasters warn conditions could get bad rather quickly. Tornado Watch Issued Across 16 New Jersey Counties
The National Weather Service on Thursday afternoon issued a tornado watch across 16 New Jersey counties. The watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. across Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties. The watch -- less severe than a warning -- was also issued for most of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Storms were expected to arrive between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., and end between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Straight-line winds, large hail, lightning and flash flooding are also possible.

Army Vet Struck Dead By Lighting While Playing Golf In Pennsylvania
Severe weather has claimed the life of a Pennsylvania man, who was struck by lightning during a round of golf. Joseph Slivinski, 71, of Lackawanna County, was struck by lightning while playing golf on Friday at Pine Hills Golf Course, according to the county coroner. Slivinski was attempting to find shelter when he was fatally injured, he died at the golf course around 1:30 p.m. A South Jersey golfer was struck and killed by lightning last month. Snapped Tree Shuts Maywood Dog Park
A tree that snapped in Saturday's thunderstorm and was left partially hanging temporarily closed the Maywood Dog Park. DPW workers were on scene at the Spring Valley Road park removing the tree as of 5 p.m. The dog park was expected to reopen by sunset, police said.
