Edward Nortrup, 39, was behind the wheel of his SUV when it partially rolled over after crashing near a two-story home on Broad Street across from the borough's municipal center, trapping him, around noon, authorities said Monday. Cyril Spinks, 26, was inside of his second-floor McCandless Street apartment when the fire broke out around 8 p.m. Monday, authorities said. Man In Roselle Park Municipal Court Runs Off As He Faced Judge: Police A man appearing in Roselle Park municipal court Thursday cut the proceedings short when he ran off as he was being addressed by the judge, police said.  Javens Ogaus, a 25-year-old Irvington man, was standing before the judge around 1:10 p.m. when he fled from the court on E. Westfield Avenue and headed towards Walnut Street.  Ogaus ran through several back yards as officers chased him. Roselle Park police set up a perimeter and called in the Union  County Sheriff's K-9. Roselle Park Girl Tricked Into Sending Explicit Video: Police Police in Roselle Park arrested a boy who allegedly posed as someone else online in order to convince another youth to send an explicit video, the department said in a statement Thursday. On June 4, Officer Ryan Hokanson received a complaint from a girl who had been the victim of “catfishing,” a slang term referring to the practice of using a fake social media identity, often on relationship or dating sites, police said. Commuter Gets Leg Stuck Between Train, Platform In Roselle Park A Roselle Park man sustained a serious leg injury after he slipped at the platform of the NJ Transit station in Roselle Park Tuesday morning, police said.  Police arrived around 7:45 a.m. and discovered the 54-year-old man, who said his leg had gotten wedged between the train and the platform as he was boarding.  He was taken to University Hospital in Newark.  The incident is under investigation by NJ Transit police. Roselle Park Chief of Police Daniel J. McCaffery said the cause "appeared to be accidental in nature."
