Authorities: Suspect In Custody, 2 Victims In Newark Shooting At Large Two victims of a Newark shooting remained at large while one suspect was taken into custody Tuesday evening, authorities said.  Authorities responded to a report of a shooting on North 9th Street near 6th Avenue West around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said in a release. An investigation found Jalil Peppers, 22, of Newark, shot at two other men — one of whom returned gunfire, Ambrose said. Police Don't Know ID Of Victim Struck, Killed By SUV In Elmwood Park, Seek Public's Help Elmwood Park police asked the public for help Saturday morning identifying a man who was struck and killed the night before on a notorious stretch of Broadway (Route 4) where another man was killed just a month earlier. The victim was struck by an eastbound 2014 Ford Explorer near the 7-Eleven and Orange Avenue around 10 p.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Foligno said.
