Elizabeth Dog Fighting Accident Leaves 2 Pit Bulls Dead, 3 Women Hospitalized Police opened fire on two of five fighting pit bulls who bit three women Tuesday morning, March 21 at their Elizabeth home, authorities said. Police were called to the Amity Street home when the dogs attacked a person who tried separating them, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office. Police shot and killed two of the dogs. The three women who were bitten were hospitalized in unknown condition, authorities said. Their condition was not immediately known.

Toddler Hospitalized In North Jersey Pit Bull Attack, State Police Say A toddler was taken to the hospital after being attacked by a pit bull in North Jersey Tuesday afternoon, state police confirmed. The victim — a boy approximately 18 months old — was bitten by the dog at a home on Reservoir Lane in White Township (Warren County) just before 10:40 a.m., NJSP Tpr. II Charles Marchan told DailyVoice.com. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, Marchan said. Additional details were not released.
