Kearny Mom, Paramus PBA Member Elizabet Rodrigues Dies, 42 Those who knew Elizabet Rodrigues say every day she spent fighting cancer was done fearlessly with grace and equanimity. Rodrigues fought valiantly for six years right up until Jan. 21, when the 42-year-old Kearny resident lost her battle. Rodrigues -- affectionately known as simply, Liz -- is being remembered for her for her bravery, unbounded love and kindness. Born in Waterbury, CT, and a former resident of Prospect Park, Rodrigues was a manager for Best Buy in Woodland Park, and later the store in Paramus, her obituary says. Paramus PBA Donates $3G To Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. (RBARI) has long held a special place in Paramus Police Detective Glenn Pagano's heart. In 2008, the rescue brought him his first dog, Kylie, a brindle pitbull found on the streets of Newark. At the time, Pagano wasn't looking for a dog, but he agreed to foster Kylie for RBARI.  A week later, he adopted her.
