Cliffside Park PD Driver Tries To Run After Officer Finds Gun, Synth Pot, THC Wax In Stop
A Cliffside Park patrol officer nabbed a driver with a handgun and various drugs, including synthetic pot, crystal meth and THC wax, authorities said.
Officer Jonathan Petermann stopped a white Honda Accord near the corner of Park and Anderson avenues for having tinted windows around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Detective Lt. Vincent Capano said.
Approaching the sedan, Petermann smelled pot, Capano said.
So he called for backups and had the driver – Omar Abad, 41 of North Bergen – step out of the car, the lieutenant said.

A pair of Haledon police officers seized two handguns, 240 folds of heroin and 20 vials of crack, along with other drugs, during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Officer John Bonilla stopped the driver of a gray Honda sedan for running a stop sign and then failing to signal a turn at the intersection of Burhans Avenue and Temple Street just before 3 p.m. Monday, Lt. George Guzman said.
The driver and a front-seat passenger were moving rapidly inside, Guzman said.

It’s more than an hour and a half drive to Paterson from the homes of a Pennsylvania trio whom Franklin Lakes police said they caught with heroin, Oxycodone and hypodermic needles during a traffic stop.
