SADDLE BROOK, N.J.– Saddle Brook is expected to become the next Bergen County municipality to ban the sale of puppy mill dogs, officials said.
The council plans to adopt the ordinance at its Aug. 4 meeting, Mayor Robert White told Daily Voice.
"It is a preventative measure because we don't have any stores that sell dogs or cats," White said.
Saddle Brook's ordinance was introduced on July 14 and passed unanimously on first reading.
Authorities in Emerson and Paramus closed Just Pups owner Vincent LoSacco's shops following a host of violations, and New Jersey officials charged him with abusing customers earlier this week.
