The group meets once a month and requested that Saudino make his presentation, Mayor Robert White said.
Saudino discussed ways for seniors to avoid scams. He also answered questions from the audience.
"Some of the best advice he gave was 'if you don't recognize the number, don't even pick up'," White said. "Don't give out your information over the phone."
The half-hour presentation was recorded and will air on local cable, White said.
Roughly 75 people attended, he added.
The event was organized by AARP President Karen D’Arminio, Senior Center Director Joe Lecce and Saudino's secretary, Jean Jadevaia, a township resident.
"Thank you for teaching our seniors how to protect themselves," said Marilyn Hamot Ryan.
