Nicolangelo Pallotta of Susan Lane posted $100,000 bail and was released pending arraignment this coming Tuesday in Saddle Brook.

He is charged with sexual assault and child endangerment, Molinelli said.

The girl “disclosed the information to her mother, who advised the victim’s school what had occurred,” the prosecutor said. “After speaking with school personnel, she took the victim to her pediatrician where she disclosed the same information.

“The Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) was also notified and responded to the victim’s residence with the Saddle Brook Police Department,” Molinelli said.

State caseworkers contacted his detectives, the prosecutor said, “after which arrangements were made for the victim to be brought to [this] office to be forensically interviewed by a detective.”

“The victim reaffirmed the allegation,” Molinelli said.

Pallotta’s wife, Margherita, died six weeks ago at 73. They’d been married 55 years.
