PD: Saddle Brook Woman Wanted Out Of Carlstadt Ducked $7,100 In Tolls

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- A Saddle Brook woman who owed more than $7,000 in unpaid E-ZPass tolls -- and was wanted on a warrant out of Carlstadt -- was arrested after Port Authority police stopped her box truck for rolling through the toll booth without paying at the Holland Tunnel.

Luz A. Waldstein, 38, was in a yellow GMC truck without an E-ZPass transponder after it cleared the toll plaza on Tuesday, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.

The truck was impounded until its owner could retrieve it and get proper registration for it, he said.

Waldestein, meanwhile, had several E-ZPass accounts -- including one with 89 separate violations, Pentangelo said.

She was given an Oct. 25 court date on charges of theft and bail jumping.
