Garcia, of 635 Anderson Avenue, was "temporarily resuscitated by [police] officers and EMS workers" who found him not breathing and without a pulse after the 8:15 a.m. crash on Molnar Drive at East 54th Street, Police Chief Michael Foligno told Daily Voice.

He died of his injuries at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, however, the chief said.

A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a four-door 2010 Suzuki Kizashi was making a left onto Molnar from East 54th when it collided with Garcia's 2008 Suzuki SV6, which was headed in the same direction, Foligno said.

"No charges have been filed as of yet and the investigation is ongoing," the chief said Friday morning. "The driver of the car was not injured."
