They didn’t say why they’re looking for 30-year-old Ariel Drapczynksi, however.

“Officers made contact with Drapczynski attempting to have him turn himself in, but he terminated contact with [them],” Detective Capt. Darren Sucorowski told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A perimeter was established around his friend’s Plauderville Avenue residence after police received information that Drapczynksi was there — and armed.

The street was closed between Shaw and Main streets in the mixed-use neighborhood as Elmwood Park police joined Garfield and the BCPD at the scene.

Several area residents were relocated to Fire Company #5’s firehouse in the neighborhood.

It was later determined that Drapczynksi wasn’t there — or at two other residences that police checked, Sucorowski said.

If you’ve seen Drapczynksi or know where to find him, the captain asked that you call local police or his department: 973-478-8500.

DO NOT engage him yourself, he said.
