Authority police took six juveniles into custody in the 1:20 a.m. assault, which sent four adults to the hospital and forced the suspension of PATH service for an hour and 10 minutes as they looked for other possible assailants.
They found a wallet to one of the victims on the tracks, authority spokesman Joseph Pentangelo said.
The victims were three men, ages 29, 22 and 21 (two of them from Morris County), and a 21-year-old woman who hurt her shoulder when one of the teens ripped her purse from her arm, Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
One man had a cut lip and bruises on his face, another had facial injuries so severe he needed stitches and the third had a cut on his eye, he said.
All six youths, between 15 and 17, were being held in the Hudson County Juvenile Detention Center on assault and robbery complaints.
