Craig Howe, Justin Draper and Ashari Wilson, all 18 (left to right, above), were arrested last week by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Elmwood Park police after they obtained a copy of the cellphone video, authorities said.
The girl was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center after her parents found her unconscious on their front lawn on June 21, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.
Her blood-alcohol content was 0.27, he said.
Last week, her parents and the girl went to Elmwood Park police after she said she was told by a 17-year-old boy that he and others had sex with her that night, “which she did not recall,” the prosecutor said.
The sex took place in the Falmouth Avenue backyard of a home that Howe and Draper share, he said.
A friend of the girl’s also reported seeing a video of her on Wilson’s phone “engaging in sexual activity on that date with several men while she appeared to be highly intoxicated,” Molinelli said.
Prosecutor’s detectives then interviewed the girl and her friend, he said.
“During those interviews, the victim provided limited information regarding her recollection of that date and her friend described what she observed on the phone,” Moinelli said.
An investigation determined that Howe, Draper and the 17-year-old had sex with the girl, a portion of which Wilson recorded with his cellphone, the prosecutor said.
“That video was subsequently recovered by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit,” he said.
Howe and Draper were arrested last Wednesaday and Wilson on Friday. The juvenile also was taken into custody, Molinelli said.
Howe and Draper were being held on $150,000 bail each, charged with aggravated sexual assault (rape).
Wilson was being held on $200,000 cail, charged with manufacturing and possessing child pornography, hindering apprehension, invasion of privacy and child endangerment.
