The GMC SUV driver and his family members -- including a 2- and 4-year-old -- were severely traumatized after the crash, witnesses told Daily Voice.
The vehicle was headed east from the Passaic River bridge from Paterson around 9:30 p.m.when it hit the woman, who witnesses said was crossing the street into traffic near Boulevard carrying packages from the nearby Walgreens. She might have been autistic, they said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Investigation Unit responded along with borough police and EMS.
