Elmwood Park Police Make Heroin, Pot, Prostitution Arrests In Quick Time

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Elmwood Park police continued their campaign against quality of life crimes, making a trio of arrests for marijuana and heroin possession and prostitution in barely 24 hours.

Officers released 30-year-old borough resident Edwin Lopez on a court summons for marijuana possession after arresting him Friday on Donor Avenue, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.

A day earlier, they arrested a 35-year-old Lodi man on charges of having 50 bags of heroin and paraphernalia when he was stopped on Route 46 at Mill Street, the chief said. He, too, was released on a court summons.

Angela Peluso, 53 of the Bronx was charged with engaging in prostitution and released on a court summons following her arrest on Route 46 the same day.
