Elmwood Park Police: Four Heroin Buyers Busted In Half Hour

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- It took barely a half-hour for Elmwood Park police to make arrests in three separate stops of Bergen County travelers passing through town after buying heroin in Paterson, authorities said Friday.

These included two brothers from Mahwah -- Keith Jennings, 35, and 32-year-old Joel Jenningsv-- who were carrying 15 bags when they were stopped at 4 p.m. Thursday on East 54th Street, Police Chief Michael Foligno told Daily Voice.

Keith Jennings was processed and released pending a court hearing on charges of drug and paraphernalia possession and hindering, Foligno said.

They turned his brother over to Mahwah police for an outstanding warrant after charging him with drug and paraphernalia possession.

Fifteen minutes earlier, officers said they found Tyler Joles, 23, of Harrington Park carrying 40 bags of heroin during a stop on Locust Street, for which he was charged with drug possession.

Fifteen minutes before that, they charged Scott Duarte, 24, of Norwood wth having 10 bags of heroin and a hypodermic syringe after stopping him on River Drive, Foligno said.

Joles and Duarte were released pending court hearings, the chief said.
