Elmwood Park police bust more out-of-towners on drug charges

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Elmwood Park had a trio of double arrests of out-of-towners — including a 50-something couple from Saddle Brook — in a span of less than five hours.

It began at 4:45 p.m. Friday when they stopped 19-year-old Robert Beliveau of Saddle Brook and Anthony Peraino, 23, of Lodi on East 55th Street and charged them with possession of a small amount of marijuana, having it in a motor vehicle and being under its influence, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.

At 8:30 p.m., they arrested and charged Ridgefied residents Timothy Park, 23, and Seung Sohn, 24, with drug possession, drug possession in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia after finding them with 10 bags and of heroin and one of crack on Locust Street, Foligno said.

At 9:25 p.m., they charged Leanora Schmid, 57, and Anthony Schmid, 55, of Saddle Brook with having a small amount of pot in their car when it was stopped on Broadway, the chief said. Anthony Schmid also was charged with obstruction, he said.

Everyone charged was released on a court summons.
