Detectives seek DNA match for blood found at Elmwood Park burglary

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Detectives collected blood samples after a burglar broke a rear window to get into an Elmwood Park home this afternoon, authorities said.

A witness told police the noontime burglar on Elmwood Drive was white, in his late 20s and about six feet tall, wearing blue shorts, a blue baseball cap, a white t-shirt and sneakers, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.

“It appeared that he exited through the front door,” Foligno told CLIFFVIEW PILOT late this afternoon. “It was undetermined if anything was actually stolen at this time.”

A Bergen County K-9 unit assisted in the search, while detectives from the sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected the evidence for analysis.
