“He didn’t give anyone a hard time” after a teacher at the county technial school in Teterboro made the discovery, a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “He was actually kind of surprised.”
Uniformed Bergen County Police Department officers summoned Juvenile Bureau detectives, who, after speaking with the boy, took him directly to the county Regional Medical Center for a psychological evaluation, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.
“We want to be sure he gets the help he needs first,” the source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “You need to be able to figure out what type of juvenile you’re dealing with.”
Rumors of other contraband found are untrue, the source said.
The borough of Teterboro doesn’t have its own police department. Under an agreement with the county, the BCPD responds to the technical school.
