Bergen Sheriff's Sergeant OK After GSP Crash In Elmwood Park

ELMWOOD PARK — A Bergen County sheriff's officer was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after her cruiser crashed Friday on the Garden State Parkway in Elmwood Park.

"She's going to be fine," the sheriff's Anthony Cureton told Daily Voice. "She was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons."

Cureton said the sergeant was headed to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus for a facilities check around 1 p.m. when her Crown Victoria hydroplaned on the northbound Parkway and struck the divider near Exit 157.
