Before she retired, Carcara was a data processing associate for the Bergen County Board of Elections, in Hackensack. Afterward, she was a school lunch aid at Smith School, in Saddle Brook, then a security guard at Bambergers/Macy's, in Paramus.
She is survived by her husband, Bart; children Gina Hrnciar of Lodi, and Dr. Sal Carcara and his wife Jennifer of Allendale; grandchildren Ryan and Morgan Hrnciar, and Nicolette, Giada and Salvatore Carcara; and siblings Theresa Fredericks and Michael Merendino.
Carcara was predeceased by her parents, Gaspare and Rose, and her brother, Anthony Merendino.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at the Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N. Main St., in Lodi. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home, then to St. Philip the Apostle Church, in Saddle Brook, for a 10:30 a.m. funeral mass. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
