The township's grant writer completed all audit forms for a PSE&G energy grant. The grant could help Saddle Brook's firehouses, public works building and police department, White said.
The improvements could include new lighting and heating or air conditioning upgrades.
"PSE&G will pay 100 percent of the cost to install the recommended energy efficiency measures with the participating customer repaying 30 percent either in a lump sum or interest free on their PSE&G bill over 36 months," White said in his monthly report.
White said Saddle Brook's grant writer continues to follow up and monitor the PSE&G program.
Another grant possibility includes a firefighter assistance grant. The department is preparing an application for it, the mayor said.
Two grants in the research stage include water and waste disposal, and economic development.
The water and waste disposal grant covers sewer repairs, pumping station upgrades and catch basin repairs.
The economic development assistance grant could be between $100,000 to $300,000 to boost local economy, White said.
