Rocky, a rapper from Harlem, N.Y., was born Oct. 3, 1988.
Born Rakim Mayers, ASAP Rocky began rapping at the age of 8 while moving with his family from homeless shelter to shelter in Harlem.
Rocky first got noticed with his debut solo “Peso.” His early success led to a $3 million record deal with RCA Records. He’s gone on to perform with acts such as Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna.
