The public is welcome. These hand-decorated eggs are one of the many rich traditions of the Orthodox Church. According to Wikipedia, the eggs are "decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist (batik) method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write," as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax."
The class will begin at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 17 Platt Ave.
