Police were trying to determine exactly how the employee of the Glen Rock store on Prospect Street was injured — he may have tripped and fallen, or have been struck by a car sometime around 7:30 p.m., incident reporter Boyd A. Police said that the 34-year-old man was a passenger in a vehicle that had just been involved in a single-vehicle crash when he got out and proceeded to walk along the highway around 10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of East Rutherford. The officers were called to the Summit Drive home around 10:40 p.m., where the man had shot himself in the leg, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
