From a harvest festival and chili contest to a parade and trunk or treat, events are available for kids of all ages. Carlstadt 'Santa' Makes Magical Christmas For Special Needs Children
CARLSTADT, N.J. -- The Carlstadt Volunteer Ambulance Corps will again hold a Sensitive Santa Workshop for children with special needs. The free event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at 424 Hackensack St. in Carlstadt. Each child will visit with Santa one-on-one, with no crowds, no lines, no loud music or flash photography. The child will spent ten minutes with Santa, talking with him and helping with his pre-holiday preparations in a calm and soothing environment. Food Rescue Seeks New Home In Carlstadt, East Rutherford
PASSAIC, N.J. -- The New Jersey Food & Clothing Rescue recently completed an outreach in Newark that helped 500 people on World Homeless Day. But now the volunteer organization — which redistributes donated food, clothing, personal hygiene items and and household items to people in crises — needs help finding a new home so it can continue to help others in need.
