Her articles have gained global, national, state, and regional attention and awards and have appeared in a number of newspapers, including USA Today. She has worked for publications such as Family Circle Magazine, The Ridgewood News, and the Daily Record. Lorraine also has penned two memoirs and teaches memoir writing. Ranchero Cantina Closes Its Doors In Emerson EMERSON, N.J. — Ranchero Cantina, the Emerson restaurant known for its Southwestern fare, rustic tables and oversized chairs, closed as of Monday. In a Facebook announcement, Ranchero posted it “would like to thank all of our loyal customers, bands and staff for three really great years!” Cinar, a restaurant serving authentic Turkish food, will be moving into the space at 214 Kinderkamack Road. Weather Watcher: Snow Storm 'Just A Threat' For Bergen BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — A social-media based forecasting page predicts that the first potential snowstorm to hit Bergen County this season is only a threat. The Jan. 8 storm could bring the first significant snowfall along the I-95 corridor, covering Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston, according to amateur Northeast Weather meteorologist Sam Ebby. Blue Moon Closes Its Norwood Restaurant NORWOOD, N.J. — The Blue Moon Mexican Café in Norwood has closed. A Monday post on the Blue Moon Facebook page reads, “It seems there was one too many Blue Moons for the area.” The restaurant chain specializes in Mexican food. The Norwood location, which opened in Fall 2015, was the newest addition. During off-hours, it had welcomed autistic young adults and their caretakers from the Norwood-based Valley Program Foundation for Children with Autism. Fort Lee Champion Builds ‘Ecosystem’ For Runners RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Ask Aidan Walsh of Fort Lee what he’s doing in Bergen County and he’ll tell you he’s building an ecosystem for runners.
