NJ State Police: Six Cars Damaged In Jets Game Tailgating Fire

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Most fans were already in Met Life Stadium for the Jets-Bengals game on Sunday when hot coals left behind after tailgating sparked a fire that damaged six vehicles, NJ State Police said Monday.

The fire broke out minutes before kickoff when another car ran over the coals, the NJSP said.

Three cars had to be towed, they said.

An investigation was continuing.
