The Fourth Annual Labor Day Walk for Citizens with Disabilities takes place at the Rutherford Labor Day Street Fair on Monday, Sept. 5.
Families will assemble at the corner of Ames and Park avenues, in front of the Bank of America, at 11 a.m. Parents and families will discuss their concerns about dwindling resources and a weakened public policy regarding the quality of life for those who live with disabilities.
Past walkers and supporters have included U.S. Sen. Corey Booker, U.S. Rep. Bill Parcells, Assemblyman Gary Schaer, Assemblywoman Marlene Caride, State Sen. Joe Vitale and Freeholders from several counties.
All advocates for children and adults with special needs are welcome to join in the walk.
