Starving Dog Rescued From Shocking Conditions In New York Basement: Officials
A young Long Island man left a starving dog locked in a basement with little to eat, authorities said Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Isaiah Thomas, 20, of Wheatley Heights, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 15 on two animal cruelty charges, the Suffolk County SPCA said.
Thomas owned a 4-year-old Cane Corso named Apollo, then confined the dog to a basement secured by a metal door that was held closed by three vehicle tires, investigators said.

Eight New Jersey businesses have landed on the state's workplace accountability "wall," owing a combined $743,826.95 in unpaid wages, fines and penalties.
The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development added the eight businesses to its Workplace Accountability in Labor List, known as The WALL, in September, the agency announced Tuesday, Sept. 15. Businesses on The WALL are barred from public contracts with state, county and local governments until their liabilities are paid in full.

The FBI says it first investigated Jonathan Hunter Kramer in 2023, when he was a minor, before arresting the Butler County man Saturday, Sept. 12, over an alleged ISIS-inspired attack plan.
