Andy Stewart Fends Off Challenger For Orangetown Supervisor
ORANGETOWN – Democratic Orangetown Supervisor Andy Stewart roundly defeated Michael Moroney, his Republican challenger, to serve a third term on Tuesday.
Stewart led by 5,971 to Moroney's 4,747 votes late Tuesday.
Town Board Republican Paul Valentine, who had 5,279 votes, and Democrat Gerry Bottari, with 5,327, will serve four year terms. Republican Thomas Morr garnered 5,021 votes, and Democrat Chris Smith got 4,815.
Orangetown Town Clerk Charlotte E. Madigan, Town Justice Patrick J. Loftus, and Superintendent of Highways James J. Dean have been re-elected.
