Midland Park Fire Department Seeks 'Project Santa' Feedback
MIDLAND PARK, N.J. — The Midland Park Fire Department is seeking input on its first-ever Project Santa event. The department invited Santa to travel around neighborhood streets, visit hundreds of children, and distribute gifts, all for a donation to support emergency service workers. Oakland Woman Gives Back To Honor Late Brother
OAKLAND, N.J. — An Oakland woman is remembering the 10th anniversary of her brother's death by giving to those in need with fundraising efforts. Susan McLaughlin said her late brother, Chris, enjoyed organizing "McLaughstock — an annual Fourth of July fundraiser for different benefactors. McLaughlin feels the fundraiser is the most suitable way to honor her brother's death. “It’s been a landmark year,” McLaughlin said. "I want to make sure 100 percent of the donations go to a cause. Cliffside Park Church Stages Centennial Celebrations
CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. - Church of the Epiphany in Cliffside Park is preparing to celebrate its centennial anniversary on Jan. 2. Teaneck Students Aid Rockleigh Seniors
ROCKLEIGH, N.J. -- Students from Maayanot Yeshiva High School in Teaneck volunteered at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh by sorting medical supplies to be sent to refugees and the needy. The Harriet Seid Medical Equipment Sorting Project, with the support of the AFYA Foundation, was held last week at the Jewish Home. DUMONT, N.J. — A Dumont native is breaking world records and donating the money he raised while doing it — all while dressed as St. Nick. CLOSTER – Local historians are nominating Blanch Avenue and other roads for historic designation in the borough throughout the coming months to preserve some of the borough's history. The Closter Historic Society is collecting data and research from community members and will present their suggestions to council sometime in 2016. Cliffside Park Firefighters Escort Santa To School For Storytime
CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. — Students at Cliffside Park School No. 3 got a special visit from Mayor Thomas Calabrese on Dec. 17 during the PTO’s "Stories with Santa." More than 60 students attended the annual event with their parents. The youngsters made four different holiday crafts with the help of teachers and sixth grade students.
