Ridgewood Police: DWI Mahwah Driver Was Asleep In Oncoming Traffic Lane

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Ridgewood police charged a Mahwah man with DWI and traffic obstruction after they said they found his passed out at the wheel of his Dodge pickup stopped in the oncoming lane on Franklin Turnpike.

Patrolman Joseph Di Benedetto took Jeffrey R. Boyajian into custody following the 4 a.m. incident on Nov. 7, Detective Capt. Forrest Lyon said.

Police temporarily seized the vehicle and released Boyajian pending a hearing in Ridgewood Municipal Court.
