CLIFFVIEW PILOT HAS IT FIRST: The owner of a Jeep that knocked down a utility police on East Ridgewood Avenue this morning and took off told police today that someone else was behind the wheel.
The struck pole
The owner told police it was “found with extensive damage,” as police knew there would be based on the condition of the pole, which was toppled straight across the roadway.
PSE&G has already replaced the pole. Needless to say, traffic has been snarled as a result, given the importance of East Ridgewood Avenue as a major thoroughfare.
Police were called a little after 3 a.m. to 535 East Ridgewood Avenue, where the pole was struck.
